Blevins Franks Masters, Monthly Medals, etc.

Because of difficulties with the GolfSoc website in keeping track of entries to the Society competitions (Masters, Monthly Medals, etc), the Society has decided to leave the entry lists online until a couple of days before each competition. Please be aware however that when the maximum entries for the competition are reached those entries will be recorded and any additional entries will be added to a reserve list. The Society will advise via the GolfSoc website when the maximum entry is reached for each competition.

Withdrawing from competitions

Note:  We have had to introduce some potential penalties for withdrawals. The last masters was oversubscribed by some 10 people. The draw was made and then within 48 hours of the comp ten people withdrew. However by then the reserves had found something else to do and so not only is a late withdrawal unfair on the reserves by depriving them of a game it also means the committee have to phone around drumming up extras to take the place. So please, please, please, only enter a competition if you are sure you can make it. We accept there will be last minute changes for everyone that can't be avoided but simply double booking something and withdrawing 24 hours before isn't fair on our other members

We will endeavor to post tee times at least 48 hours prior to the start of a competition. Players withdrawing once the tee time are posted may at the committee's discretion be banned for one subsequent competition unless they have an excuse the committee deems acceptable. Players registered to play who do not attend without advising the Committee will face a one match ban for a subsequent tournament

Canceling comps

Canceling a competition. You can cancel an entry into a competition yourself if you need to by going into golfsoc and clicking on Usermenu. There you will see a note saying  You are currently entered into one or more future events. CLICK HERE  to view or cancel event entries.

If you click where instructed you will see the events you are listed to play and you can cancel your entry there.

Please make sure you also email or text the competition secretary (currently Karla) to advise her also that you are withdrawing. And please make sure you do so in plenty of time and before the draw is made. Failure to follow this procedure may lead to a one match ban at the committee's discretion.

golfsoc

A very common question we are asked is 'Why is my handicap wrong on golfsoc…' The answer is we don't use those handicaps on Golfsoc. They were posted many moons ago and they cant be linked to any federation. So to change them it would mean each week someone has to go in and physically amend 250 handicaps. So to be clear they are not valid and are not used by the Committee for our competitions. We access the Spanish Federation website directly to check handicaps and going forward for non fed members we will apply handicaps as referred to above through a website called Golfatomic (which we use merely to maintain all of our competition scores).

Due to difficulties with the GolfSoc website to keep track of registrations to the Society's competitions (Masters, Monthly Medals, etc.), the Society has decided to leave the registration lists online until a couple of days before of each competition. However, please note that when the maximum number of entries for the contest is reached, those entries will be recorded and additional entries will be added to a reserve list. The Company will notify through the GolfSoc website when the maximum number of registrations for each competition is reached.

withdrawal of funds
