Dear All,
Well we've hit the ground running after the summer and the autumn certainly seems to have appeared with a vengeance. Last week's Masters was rained off and the Esuri challenge last weekend was curtailed to nine holes on the second day. Still the course will benefit from the rain and the greens and tee boxes are looking pretty good at the moment. Congratulations to the green staff who are doing a sterling job.
I've listed the results below from the last comps if you're interested. Congratulations to all the winners.
A couple of mentions about some of the tournaments. The Esuri Open, which is a non society event took place in mid October and Marina did a fabulous job organising this yearly event which is important to those of us who are residents in Esuri to raise awareness and monies for our neighbourhood. A great day for those who took part. I did miss one of the sponsors from my speech a local internet tv company called Ayamonte Interesa who promote the area and post news of interest in the area. So please do visit their site on Facebook or YouTube and subscribe to keep up to date. If you haven't yet done so and wish to join the residents association please speak to Marina or Terry Maguire. The more of us the better if we wish to have a voice at the Town Hall.
The Esuri challenge took place this last weekend and despite some filthy conditions some good golf was played. After the greensomes and the four balls UK and the ROW were slightly ahead 4.5 to 3.5. The singles on Sunday was played in swirling wind and heavy rain and we had to limit it to nine holes. A decision I was beginning to regret when with three games to go we were losing 8 to 5 which would have handed the trophy back to Spain. However, Claire Brown snatched a win from Carlos on the 18th and then Julie and Lorraine managed to win their games and I'm not sure how because by this time you couldn't see ten feet in front of you because of the rain. Anyway the singles were then tied 8/8 so overall we retained the trophy which we won back last year. Great job team and thanks for all of those who played and enjoyed the weekend.
An update for you also on the change of system I mentioned in the last blog. We now have every member entered onto Masters Scoreboard and also the last twenty scores of the majority of members who play here regularly. A fabulous job by Eamonn and other committee members who have worked tirelessly on this. At the moment we will run this system alongside our other systems and in January if the trial has worked we will switch over. In the next month or so we will be contacting you with details of how to register yourself on Masters Scoreboard and set up your password etc. Don't worry for now we will be in touch about this.

Después del verano, el otoño parece haber llegado con fuerza. El Masters de la semana pasada se suspendió por lluvia y el Esuri Challenge del fin de semana pasado se redujo a nueve hoyos el segundo día. Aún así, el campo se beneficiará de la lluvia y los greenes y los tees de salida tienen muy buen aspecto en estos momentos. Enhorabuena al personal de green, que está haciendo un trabajo excelente.

Fue un gran día para los participantes. Me perdí uno de los patrocinadores de mi discurso una empresa local de televisión por Internet llamado Ayamonte interés que promueven la zona y publicar noticias de interés en la zona. Así que por favor visite su sitio en Facebook o YouTube para mantenerse al día. Si aún no lo ha hecho y desea unirse a la asociación de vecinos por favor hable con Marina o Terry Maguire. Cuantos más seamos, mejor, si queremos tener voz en el Ayuntamiento.
El desafío de Esuri tuvo lugar el pasado fin de semana y, a pesar de las sucias condiciones, se jugó un buen golf. Después de los greensomes y las cuatro bolas, el Reino Unido y la ROW iban ligeramente por delante, 4 a 3. Los individuales del domingo se jugaron con viento y lluvia torrenciales y tuvimos que limitarlos a nueve hoyos. Una decisión de la que empecé a arrepentirme cuando a falta de tres juegos perdíamos 8 a 5, lo que habría devuelto el trofeo a España. Sin embargo, Claire Brown le arrebató la victoria a Carlos en el hoyo 18 y después Julie y Lorraine consiguieron ganar sus partidas, y no estoy segura de cómo, porque en ese momento no podías ver a tres metros de distancia debido a la lluvia. De todos modos los individuales fueron empatados 8/8 así que en general retuvimos el trofeo que ganamos el año pasado. Gran trabajo del equipo y gracias a todos los que jugaron y disfrutaron del fin de semana.
Una actualización para usted también en el cambio de sistema que mencioné en el último blog. Ahora tenemos cada miembro entró en Masters marcador y también las últimas veinte puntuaciones de la mayoría de los miembros que juegan aquí con regularidad. Un trabajo fabuloso por Eamonn y otros miembros del comité que han trabajado incansablemente en esto. Por el momento vamos a ejecutar este sistema junto con nuestros otros sistemas y en enero si la prueba ha funcionado vamos a cambiar. En el próximo mes más o menos nos pondremos en contacto con usted con los detalles de cómo registrarse en Masters Scoreboard y configurar su contraseña, etc. No se preocupe por ahora estaremos en contacto sobre esto.
